Bed & Breakfast at Las Tortugas

 

There are four spacious guest rooms, two with en-suite shower rooms, one with a large private bathroom next door, and a fourth which shares this bathroom but is only let to members of the same party. Three rooms have twin beds which are usually joined to make large doubles and the fourth has a standard double bed.

 

There is a spacious guest sitting room with tea/coffee making facilities as well as satellite TV, DVD and loads of reading matter. Guests have unrestricted use of the pool and the large shady poolside terrace with fridge and honesty bar.

 

We love to entertain and we offer dinner for guests along the lines of French Chambres d’Hôtes where everyone eats together at a communal table. We are happy for you to invite other friends to join you for dinner.

 

Other useful information

 

We want you to feel that you are staying with friends who just happen to do the cooking, cleaning and laundry: ‘Our house is your house’ is the rule and the only prohibition is that there is no smoking inside the house or at mealtimes even if outside.

 

Las Tortugas is probably not for you if you are not keen on pets as it is home to Kippy the German Short-haired Pointer (large but seriously soppy) and cats Pepsi, Coke and Mango all of whom like to make new friends. There are also several dozen tortoises in a special home in the garden. Sorry but we don’t normally take guest pets as we think we have enough already!

 

Las Tortugas is usually an adult-only retreat. We do accept children under 16 but only for parties using a minimum of 3 rooms and we do not let the fourth room if it is not used by the same party. Guests must accept full responsibility for the safety of children, especially in the pool area and on the upstairs terrace as there are no special safety measures.

 

There is a WIFI internet connection accessible throughout the house. We can supply hairdryer and iron and a laundry service is available for stays of more than one week.

 

We are sorry but the house is not really suitable for wheelchair access.

 

During certain months the whole house can be booked on a self-catering basis for a minimum of 2 weeks. In this case there is a further double en-suite bedroom available as well as another sitting room, so a total of 10 people can be accommodated. Ask us for more details.

 

Getting There

 

Las Tortugas is 50 minutes from Almería and Murcia airports and 2 hours from Alicante. We recommend www.hirecarsinspain.com for excellent deals. The house is about 7 minutes from Junction 529 on the motorway and ten minutes from the Garrucha bypass coming from the coast, and is very easy to find.

Two people in double/twin with ensuite or private bathroom, including breakfast Full English (if required): €55, July/August €65

Single occupancy: €15 less than double

 

Bedrooms 3 & 4 when both occupied and sharing bathroom: €45 per room

 

Weekly tariff: seventh night free

 

Dinner: 3 courses including aperitif, wine and coffee: €23

 

One free dinner per person for bookings of a minimum of 4 nights.
