From today, December 20th, the Covid Certificate is now mandatory to access the interior spaces of hospitality, leisure and recreation establishments in Andalucia. 'Leisure establishment' refers to INSIDE bars, restaurants & nightclubs. In general, places where it is necessary to remove the mask to consume and where people socialise and interact at a higher level than in any other space. To enter the establishment it will be necessary to provide one of the following:
Covid-19 certificate/passport
A negative PCR test done in the last 72 hours
An antigen test done in the last 48 hours
Identification must also be shown alongside the certificate. This requirement will not apply to children under 12 years of age.
Establishments are obliged to place an informative poster to the public regarding the nature of presenting this documentation and also the non-conservation of personal and health data. Non-compliance with this public health prevention measure will be subject to inspection of the establishment.
How to obtain the Covid certificate:
For those of you that have been vaccinated here in Andalucia, you can download your Covid certificate through the App 'SaludAndalucia'.
Establishments will use a QR code reader, also provided through the SaludAndalucia App, which can verify the validity of European Union Covid certificates. The reader verifies that the QR code is correct, showing the basic data of the holder (name and date of birth), and allows the establishment to verify that the data corresponds with the identity of the customer.
So if you are planning on visiting a bar, restaurant or nightclub, make sure you always have your Covid certificate with you.
This new regulation will be reviewed again on January 15th.
